Mobile SEO

A mobile page must support real tasks on a small screen, a slower connection and with a keyboard covering part of the view.

Keep important content

Google uses the mobile version of content for indexing. Descriptions, important images and data should not disappear because the screen is smaller. Inspect the actual rendered result.

Documentation: Google Search Central.

Follow the journey one-handed

Test menus, search, filters and the offer page. Controls must be easy to distinguish and tap. Floating elements must not cover variant selection or the next action.

Test forms with the keyboard open

Enter values, trigger an error and correct it. Check labels, guidance and the submit button. Enlarging text should not prevent completion.

Reduce movement and waiting

Observe images, fonts and add-ons as they load. Reserve space for media and identify blocking resources. Compare laboratory results with behaviour on a device.

Review after changes

A new banner, filter or payment module can affect the whole journey. Keep short scenarios with viewport sizes and results to detect regressions.
