SEO competitor analysis
A sales competitor and a website appearing in search results are not always the same. Start with the customer's question and the answer they need.
Select relevant competitors
For important questions, record the shops, guides, directories and brands that appear. Keep the market and language specific. Do not automatically transfer findings from another country.
Compare how they solve the problem
Review answer coverage, examples, product comparisons and information about working together. Text length alone does not explain usefulness.
Separate facts from estimates
Public content is observable. A competitor's traffic, sales and conversion rate are usually unknown or estimated. Label the difference in your notes.
Find your own contribution
Look for evidence you can provide: implementation experience, limitations, original comparisons or expert answers. Do not copy descriptions or structure simply because a page ranks highly.
Choose a small action set
Finish with a few pages to improve. Each task names the reader's unanswered need, required material and evaluation method. A competitor's entire keyword list is not yet a work plan.
