Technical SEO audit
A technical audit should identify confirmed obstacles and an order for fixing them. Its scope depends on the website type, rendering approach, page count and recent changes, rather than a list of every SEO term.
Build a representative sample
We select the homepage, services, articles, categories, products, variants, empty results, redirects and error pages. Large catalogues also need unusual records and parameter patterns.
Check responses and access
We examine HTTP status, robots rules, meta robots, authentication, canonical URLs and sitemap inclusion. A sitemap should contain preferred canonical URLs, but cannot guarantee indexing.
Documentation: Google Search Central.
Compare HTML and the JavaScript view
For applications, we compare initial and rendered content, direct access, refresh and navigation. A visible error screen does not always match the server's response status.
Verify data and performance
Structured data is compared with what users can see. Passing a technical test does not guarantee a rich result. Performance is assessed through important tasks and available real-user data.
Prioritise repairs
Each issue has affected URLs, reproduction steps, impact and an owner. We first fix barriers to important content, then template causes with broad impact. Affected checks are repeated after deployment.
